After we are done reconditioning your vintage motorcycle frame and body we send it over to our state of the art custom painters who are the best in the industry. Our painters can give the vintage motorcycle its original paint job or we can make it unique & original with a nice custom paint job that will be sure to turn some heads.

Chrome Plating and Polishing

Nothing catches the eye more than shiny chrome on a vintage motorcycle. Our body shop can polish your aluminum parts to give them a little shine and set you apart from the rest of the pack. Nothing is cooler than having a nice looking vintage motorcycle that is clean and polished.

Wheels and Tires

Lacing and truing a wheel spoke for a vintage motorcycle can be tricky, but you can rest easy knowing that you have the best in the industry to repair yours for a smooth safe ride. Spokes are replaced if damaged and the rim is checked for pitting and rust once taken apart. Our techs will check your steering bearings, chain, and sprockets to see if they need to be replaced so you can have a dependable vintage motorcycle that won’t leave you on the side of the road. Clutches are checked to see if they pull smooth without catching while being adjusting for nice shifting. Rotors, calipers, drums, and shoes are carefully checked over to see if new parts are needed. In some cases calipers can be rebuilt but rotors can’t be turned like on cars due to the holes they have for releasing heat. Tires and tubes are generally replaced because they are usually warped or have cracks.

When you are riding your vintage motorcycle comfort is important. If the leather seat is cracking we can restore or replace it and even give it a custom look. If the seat foam is ruined we can replace it with new material in a variety of different feels from hard to soft all depending on your riding preference.

Engine and Transmission

When a vintage motorcycle comes into our shop a compression test is done to see if the top end is within manufactures specs. If the compression test shows the unit has too little psi for each cylinder a top end rebuild will be needed. An air leak test will be needed to see how much air is leaking past the piston rings, intake valves, and exhaust valves in 4 stroke engines. In 4 stroke engines a valve adjustment could be needed if valves are too loose or too tight. In a 2 stroke motor a Vacuum/Pressure test is needed to see if there is compression above and below the piston rings.

In the bottom end of an engine it is less common but in some cases the crank will need to be repaired which means splitting the engine case. We go through gear boxes, gear shifters, clutches, counter balancers, crankcase rods, and kick starters while repairing the bottom end of a motorcycle engine to make sure there are no damaged parts.

On vintage motorcycles we check the battery as well as all wiring. If that checks out good the next thing our techs check on is if the motorcycle gets spark from the spark plug. Parts that we go through after we perform those tests include the generator, starter, electronic ignition, spark plugs, and spark plug boots.  Our techs will perform test on ignition timing, and magneto timing to see if they meet manufactures specs for optimum performance.

Front forks are checked for worn parts and oil leaks. Forks can be reconditioned with a few parts and some fluid to ensure a safe ride. Steering bearings can be repacked with grease if they are in good condition, otherwise reconditioned or new ones are used. The back suspension will either have shocks and springs or a swing arm set up which is closely looked at to determine the best course of action.

Our techs will make sure you have no leaks, holes, or rust in your exhaust pipes in which replacement of the part is recommended to make your vintage motorcycle to look and sound great when rolling up next to someone.
